Lash Hacks: How to Make Your Eyelashes Longer Without a Curler

make lashes long curler

If the thought of curling and crimping your lashes with a metal lash curler makes you cringe, there’s no need to panic.

You can achieve long and lush lashes with a few gentle swipes of mascara.

Using a few expert beauty tricks and tips you can make your eyelashes look long and luscious without bending and potentially breaking them with an eyelash curler.

How to Make Your Lashes Look Longer Without a Lash Curler

  1. Choose a lengthening mascara for your eyelashes. Unlike basic mascara formulations, lengthening mascaras contain small particles designed to fatten and make lashes appear longer.
  2. Open your eyes wide. Stroke a thin and light layer of black or brown lengthening mascara to the upper lashes.
  3. Beginning at the roots, apply the mascara using feathery and thin strokes. Continue applying the product underneath the upper lash until you reach the tips of the lashes.
  4. Add more volume to the lashes by separating your thin strands.  Hold your mascara wand vertically and gently push it directly up into the roots of the upper lashes to divide the lashes from the inner corner to the outer corner of the eye.
  5. Wiggle your wand to fatten up your lashes. Return the wand to the horizontal position and zigzag or wiggle the mascara gently across the lashes to create the appearance of long and lush lashes.
  6. Coat the lower lashes with a vertical sweep of mascara. Sweep the wand from side to side over the lower lashes. Remove any large clumps of mascara with an eyelash comb.

Lash Hacks: How to Make Your Eyelashes Longer Without a Curler

  • Don’t pump the mascara wand – you will trap air into the bottle and make the product dry out faster.
  • Applying more than four coats of mascara to your lashes increases the chances that the product will smear, flake, or cause the lashes to appear spiked and hard.
  • To complement your natural skin tone, apply a mascara hue that is no more than 2 to 3 shades darker than the color of your eyebrows.
